I think I tweeted about this super cheap economy rice aka chap fan before. Went there again with May, Logan and Brian last week, and took some pics in mind to blog about it. It's located at PJ Section 2 (Not to be mistaken by the popular SS2), near PJ Old Town (Not to be mistaken again by the popular Old Town White Coffee).
Two easy directions, via Federal Highway. If you're coming from KL, after the arch, take the first exit (KWSP/Jalan Gasing/Jalan Universiti exit), and turn left into Jalan Gasing. Follow the course of the road all the way until you reach a roundabout, take the 12 o'clock exit and again go all the way straight until the end where you'll reach a T-junction. Turn left, and drive till the end of the road. Towards the end of the road, you will start to notice alot of vehicles are parked by the road sides and you too can start looking for a space to park yours too.
If you're driving from PJ, take the Amcorp Mall exit. Take a left turn and head towards PJ New Town (Also known as PJ State), take the 12 o'clock exit at the first roundabout, 3 o'clock exit on the second and 9 o'clock exit on the third. Follow the course of the road and you shall end up at the same place where you should start looking for parking.
The big kopitiam stall on the left side corner of the road is the place where the chap fan stall is operating.
The place is a bit hot, try to be there by 12pm before the lunch crowd starts flooding in.

You will be the one who will take the dishes yourself. You decides how much you can eat. How much you want to eat =P There are a huge variety of dishes to choose from, I mean really huge variety. But to my disappointment, as also pointed out by Brian, there are limited meat dishes. Majority are vege and non-meat dishes like eggs, beancurd, beans etc. But this stall should not be mistaken as a vegetarian stall, it does has its variety of meat selections, just limited. You will get what I mean if you go there and see it for yourself.
From the pictures, you can see that with at least 4 selections of different dishes, chances are your rice will be less than 4 bucks. The previous time I went, almost similiar to the one I had shown above, minus the egg and wanton, it cost me only RM 3.40, and May's previous visit only cost her RM 3.20, pictured here.
Oh another thing worth a mention is the fried chicken wings. I usually gets turned off when fried chickens' bones are black (not fresh, frozen) but this one are really clean! If you can't get enough of it like me and May, it's 1 buck for each chicken wing extra =P *yummy*
A purpose drive to this chap fan from KL is not really worth your petrol and the lunch time traffic but if you happen to be around the area then why not? Give it a try. In trying times like this and more people becoming broke like me, this is a must go! =P
